Στην έκδοση, που αποτελεί τον δεύτερο τόμο του σχετικού ευρύτερου έργου, παρουσιάζονται τα εφυαλωμένα αγγεία (τα bacini) που είναι εντοιχισμένα στις όψεις πολυάριθμων ναών της περιφερειακής ενότητας Λασιθίου. Τα αγγεία εντοπίστηκαν στο πλαίσιο του ερευνητικού προγράμματος: «Εντοιχισμένα αγγεία σε βυζαντινές και μεταβυζαντινές εκκλησίες του ελληνικού χώρου: ένα ηλεκτρονικό corpus». Η μελέτη των κεραμικών αναδεικνύει ανεξερεύνητες πτυχές του υλικού πολιτισμού της περιοχής του Λασιθίου στη διάρκεια της βενετοκρατίας, της οθωμανικής περιόδου αλλά και της σύγχρονης εποχής, καθώς οι σχετικές με την κεραμική αυτής της περιόδου δημοσιεύσεις είναι ελάχιστες από την περιοχή, προσφέροντας επιπλέον στοιχεία για την ιστορία της και τις επαφές της με άλλες θέσεις από τον 13ο και έως τον 21ο αιώνα. Στο πλαίσιο της έρευνας, τα κεραμικά συνδέονται με το εκάστοτε μνημείο, με τον χώρο αλλά και με τους ανθρώπους της ανατολικής Κρήτης, καθώς εκτός της λεπτομερούς αρχαιολογικής τεκμηρίωσης σχολιάζονται πτυχές της διάχυσης των κεραμικών και της πρακτικής εντοιχισμού. Το κείμενο συνοδεύεται από αναλυτικό κατάλογο, χάρτες, σκαριφήματα, σχέδια και πολυάριθμες έγχρωμες φωτογραφίες. Μέσα από τη συστηματική μελέτη και τη συνολική παρουσίαση του υλικού από το Λασίθι, αναδεικνύονται οι ιδιαιτερότητες της πρακτικής σε αυτή την περιοχή, όπου εντοπίζονται πρώιμες εκφάνσεις της χρήσης της κατά τον 13ο αιώνα και παρατηρείται μία νέα άνθηση της πρακτικής στη διάρκεια του 19ου αιώνα.
